The
Arbor of Itasca
is dedicated to providing quality nursing care in a home-like
environment for seniors who need assistance and companionship,
while conforming to federal and state requirements for intermediate
and skilled health care facilities.
We
are located in a residential neighborhood of Itasca - one of the
original "Tree Cities USA" award recipients. Itasca
is conveniently situated in the western suburbs of Chicago.
The
Arbor of Itasca is licensed by the State of Illinois as an intermediate
and skilled care facility and is a member of the Illinois Health
Care Association and American Health Care Association. Licensed
nurses along with certified nurses aides are on duty 24 hours
a day to provide care and assistance as needed.
There
are extensive activity programs and opportunities for community
involvement. We are a recipient of the Governor's award for "L.I.F.E."
(Living in Family Environments). We provide a variety of programs
such as religious and educational programs, intergenerational
activites, games, theme parties, picnics, exercise programs and
many more activities to choose from every day. We also offer outings
on a regular basis including bowling, shopping, lunch outings,
the library, and other events around town in the Arbor's own handicap
accessible van.
The
Arbor is designed with exterior courtyards for residents who enjoy
gardening or just like spending time outdoors. The courtyards
include patios, raised gardens, and comfortable gliders for residents
and visitors relaxation.
The
rooms are comfortable with views of the adjacent forest preserve
and court yards. Residents are encouraged to decorate their room
with personal belongings and items to make their stay more comfortable.
We welcome all of our residents to feel "At Home" with
our home.
The
Arbor offers an appetizing meal service, reviewed by a registered
dietician, and provided in the community dining rooms where residents
can socialize and enjoy their meals. Meals are served 3 times
a day, and snacks and juice are available through out the day
as well. Residents choose the "Resident Choice" meals
for lunch and supper each month, and substitutes are available
for every meal. Our dietary staff take pride in meal preparations
and appearance and work hard to provide our residents with a healthy,
appealing, and delicious dining experience.
